Measurement of the Spin Correlation A(ookk) in $N P$ Elastic Scattering Between 0.63-{GeV} and 1.08-{GeV}

Z.Phys.C 40 (1988) 193-197, 1988.
Inspire Record 269772 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.15598

We present the measurements of the spin correlation parameterAookk(np). A longitudinally polarized beam of free neutrons obtained from the break-up of polarized deuterons was scattered on the longitudinally polarized Saclay frozen-spin proton target. Measurements were carried out at SATURNE II, at neutron beam kinetic energies of 0.63, 0.88, 0.98 and 1.08 GeV. The data points cover the angular region from about 40° to 110° CM. The observed angular dependence ofAookk(np) at 0.63 GeV agree with the phase shift analysis predictions except at small angles.

Search for New Charged Leptons Decaying Into Massive Neutrinos and New Stable Charged Leptons in $e^+ e^-$ Collisions

The VENUS collaboration Abe, K. ; Amako, K. ; Arai, Y. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 61 (1988) 915-918, 1988.
Inspire Record 269112 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20054

A search for sequential charged leptons decaying into massive neutrinos has been performed at Ec.m.=56 GeV at the KEK colliding-beam accelerator TRISTAN. We have found no evidence for the production of the charged heavy leptons for an integrated luminosity of 5.3 pb−1. A search for stable charged leptons was also conducted yielding null results. A new mass limit on the charged heavy leptons was obtained as a function of the mass of the associated neutrinos.

Precision measurement of parity nonconservation in atomic Cesium: A Low-energy test of the electroweak theory

Noecker, M.C. ; Masterson, B.P. ; Wieman, Carl E. ;
Phys.Rev.Lett. 61 (1988) 310-313, 1988.
Inspire Record 260503 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20071

We have made an improved measurement of the parity-nonconserving electric-dipole transition amplitude between the 6S and 7S states of atomic cesium. We obtain Im(EPNC)β=−1.576(34) mV/cm, which is in good agreement with the predictions of the standard model and earlier less precise measurements. This places more stringent constraints on alternatives to the standard model. We also see the first evidence of a nuclear-spin-dependent contribution to atomic parity nonconservation. The nuclear-spin dependence observed is in agreement with that predicted to arise from a nuclear anapole moment.

We report on a study of the inclusive production properties of DD¯ mesons in pp collisions at 800 GeV/c and compare our results to measurements made at lower energies and to the expectations of the QCD fusion model.

Electromagnetic Dissociation for High $Z$ Projectiles and at Ultrarelativistic Energies

Hill, J.C. ; Wohn, F.K. ; Winger, J.A. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.Lett. 60 (1988) 999-1001, 1988.
Inspire Record 264182 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.20156

Experiments to determine the characteristics of electromagnetic dissociation (ED) has been extended to high projectile charge and ultrarelativistic energies using La139 and O16 projectiles on Au197 targets. The gross features are reproduced in a Weizsäcker-Williams calculation but significant systematic deviations appear. The results are used as a guide in extending the calculations to the regime of energies and projectiles expected for planned heavy-ion colliders where Ed effects should comprise a major fraction of the total cross section.
