The average multiplicities 〈 n c 〉 and 〈n〉, of charged-plus-neutral pions produced in e + e − collisions, have been determined for total center-of-mass energies ranging from 1.2 to 2.4 GeV. No appreciable multiplicity variation is observed over this energy range, where the mean values 〈; n c 〉 = 3.3 +0.3 −0.2 and 〈 n 〉 = 4.4 +0.4 −0.2 are found.

VALUES OF R CALCULATED FROM TOTAL CROSS SECTION.
A large solid angle detector has been used to observe π + π − π 0 events produced, at the ω energy, by electron-positron collisions in the ORSAY storage ring. From the ω excitation curve we have deduced: σ ( e + e − → ω 3 π ) = (180 ± 0.20) μ b, Γ = (9.1 ± 0.8) MeV and with B( ω → π + π − π 0 ) = 0.898 ± 0.045 we have calculated Γ e + e − = (0.76 ± 0. 08) keV and g 2 ω 4π = 18.4 ± 1.8 .

FITTED CROSS SECTION AT OMEGA PEAK, RADIATIVELY CORRECTED.
Using the electron-positron storage ring VEPP-2 multipionic events have been observed at a total energy of 1.18–1.34 GeV. The experimental cross-section appears to be considerably larger than calculated within the framework of the vector dominance model for the processes e + e − → ϱπ , ϱϵ , ωπ , A 1 π . The data on the total cross-section obtained in the framework of the statistical model with 4 pions are presented.
DATA VALUES MEASURED OFF GRAPH IN JOURNAL. VALUES OF R CALCULATED FROM TOTAL MULTIHADRONIC CROSS SECTION.
Data are presented which firmly establish the existence of the double charge exchange reaction p p → Σ − Σ − at 3.6 GeV/ c . The forward cross section was found to be (5.9 ± 1.1) μb and the ratio of the “forbidden” to “allowed” forward cross section is R = σ( Σ − Σ − σ( Σ + Σ + ) = 0.09 ± 0.02 .

We have measured dσ du for π − p elastic scattering at 3 and 4 GeV c in the ranges −0.119⩽ u ⩽0.113 and −0.233⩽ u ⩽0.088, respectively. A fit of the form d σ /d u = A exp ( Bu + Cu 2 ) gives B = 4.34±0.42 and C = 7.0±3.5 at 4 GeV c with χ 2 = 5.7 for 9 degrees of freedom; the simpler form d σ /d u = A exp( Bu ) gives B = 3.7 ± 0.3 with χ 2 = 9.6. At 3 GeV c we confirm with high statistics the structures already observed.

The differential cross section for the reaction γp → π 0 p at forward angles has been measured in the energy region between 350 MeV and 1175 MeV. A phenomenological multiple analysis was carried out on the present data together with other data.

Results are presented on an analysis of the reaction K + p → K ∗+ (890) p at 16 GeV/ c and compared with data at lower incident momenta and with corresponding results for the reaction K − p → K ∗− (890) p. It is found for both reactions that the energy dependence of the cross section exhibits a simple ( p − n lab behaviour.
BREIT-WIGNER RESONANCE FITS WITH BACKGROUND.
Differential cross-sections for pp elastic scattering in the transfer momentum range 2 x 10 −3 ⩽ | t | ⩽ x 8 10 −3 (GeV/ c ) 2 were studied with a hydrogen filled ionization chamber which was used as a target and as a detector of the recoiled protons. The measurements have been done at P lab . = 1.11 GeV/ c , 1.28 GeV/ c , 1.34 GeV/ c , 1.40 GeV/ c and 1.70 GeV/ c . The real part of the spin independent forward scattering amplitude has been determined, the results being in agreement with the dispersion relation calculations.

We have measured with good statistics the differential cross section for p p →π + π − , K + K − around 0°. Our data and previous results show that the s -dependence of dσ/d t has a value compatible with the appropriate baryon exchange.

The transverse momentum distribution at 90° of pions, protons and antiprotons have been measured at the CERN intersecting storage rings for C.M. energies between 23.2 and 52.7 GeV. In this energy range, the pion and proton distributions are almost energy independent. The antiproton production rises by a factor of two between 23.2 and 52.7 GeV.
The invariant cross section was fitted by CONST*EXP(-SLOPE*PT).
