The results of the multiplicity distributions of shower, grey, black, and heavily ionizing charged particles from induced16 reactions at 200A GeV are presented. The results are compared with the predictions of the Lund Monte Carlo code fritiof, the multichain model by Ranft, and the Monte Carlo code venus.

The production rates and substructure of jets have been studied in charged current deep inelastic e+p scattering for Q**2>200 GeV**2 with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 110.5 pb**-1. Inclusive jet cross sections are presented for jets with transverse energies E_T(jet) > 14 GeV and pseudorapidities in the range -1 < eta(jet) < 2. Dijet cross sections are presented for events with a jet having E_T(jet) > 14 GeV and a second jet having E_T(jet) > 5 GeV. Measurements of the mean subjet multiplicity, <n_sbj>, of the inclusive jet sample are presented. Predictions based on parton-shower Monte Carlo models and next-to-leading-order QCD calculations a re compared to the measurements. The value of alphas(M_Z), determined from <n_sbj> at y_cut=0.01 for jets with 25<E_T(jet)<119 GeV, is alphas(M_Z) = 0.1202 +-0.0052 (stat.) +0.0060-0.0019 (syst.) +0.0065-0.0053 (th.). The mean subjet multiplicity as a function of Q**2 is found to be consistent with that measured in NC DIS.

Phys.Lett.B 363 (1995) 230-236, 1995.
Inspire Record 406952 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.28438

In this letter the distribution of slow target associated particles emitted in Au + Emulsion interactions at 11.6 A GeV/ c is studied. The three models RQMD, FRITIOF and VENUS are used for comparisons and especially their treatment of rescattering is investigated.

Multiplicity characteristics of particles produced in C-12 emulsion collisions at 4.5-A/GeV/c

Int.J.Mod.Phys.A 10 (1995) 845-857, 1995.
Inspire Record 401127 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.40450

Experimental data on multiplicities and correlations of charged particles of different types produced in collisions of 4.5 A GeV/c carbon-12 with emulsion are reported and discussed. The data are compared with the results of other experiments on nucleus–nucleus and hadron–nucleus collisions. It is found that the particle production mechanism in nucleus–nucleus collisions is almost the same as in hadron–nucleus collisions. It is also observed that the shower particles' multiplicity distributions obey a KNO type scaling law, which supports the aforementioned result.

Characteristics of projectile fragments produced in Mg-24 Em interactions at Dubna energy

We present the basic characteristics of singly, doubly and heavily charged fragments of the incident nucleus in inelastic interactions of relativistic24Mg nuclei in nuclear emulsion. The relationship between the charge of the incident projectile nuclei and those of the projectile fragments is studied. The result reflects the importance of the charge of the incident projectiles and consequently the electromagnetic interactions in the fragmentation processes.

Multiplicity distributions of produced particles in 60-A-GeV O-16 emulsion interactions and eclipse effect

El-Nadi, M. ; Sherif, M.M. ; Hegab, M.K. ; et al.
Nuovo Cim.A 108 (1995) 281-288, 1995.
Inspire Record 408599 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37819

The shower particles multiplicity distribution produced in 60A GeV16O-Em collisions is studied in the framework of an extended Glauber model in which terms higher than the first (optical limit) in the phase shift expansion are considered. These are the so-called eclipse correction terms. The calculated distribution shows satisfactory agreement with the present experimental data.

On slow-particle production in 200-A-GeV O-16 emulsion interactions

El-Nadi, M. ; Sherif, M.M. ; Hussien, A. ; et al.
Nuovo Cim.A 108 (1995) 87-96, 1995.
Inspire Record 408539 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37839

The multiplicity distributions and the correlations of different types of slow particles produced in 200A GeV oxygen-induced interactions with emulsion nuclei are presented. The experimental distributions are studied within the framework of the generalized Andersson-Otterlund-Stenlund (AOS) model for nucleus-nucleus interactions. The generalized (AOS) model fails to describe the present experimental data. Also a systematic comparison using the calculations of VENUS model is made. The grey-particles multiplicity is successfully reproduced by the theoretical multistring model VENUS, while the model is inadequate for explaining the distribution of black particles.

Inelastic interactions of Li-6 nuclei in emulsion at 4.5-A/GeV/c as a probe for Li-6 internal structure

El-Sharkawy, S. ;
Phys.Scripta 50 (1994) 97-101, 1994.
Inspire Record 383434 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.19309

The mean free path for inelastic interactions of 6Li in emulsion is measured and found not to be in systematic agreement with the different known theoretical parameterizations. This may be attributed to the loosely bound structure of 6Li nuclei. Possible internal structures of 6Li nuclei are investigated via the analysis of the shower particles multiplicity distributions for inclusive and central 6Li-Em interactions. In this analysis the experimental P-Em, d-Em and α-Em data are used as inputs for folding the corresponding distributions for 6Li-Em interactions. The results from central collisions favour the (α + d) cluster structure for the incident 6Li nuclei.
