Within the theory of supersymmetry, the lightest neutralino is a dark matter candidate and is often assumed to be the lightest supersymmetric particle (LSP) as well. If the neutral wino or higgsino is dark matter, the upper limit of the LSP mass is determined by the observed relic density of dark matter. If the LSP is a nearly-pure neutral state of the wino or higgsino, the lightest chargino state is expected to have a significant lifetime due to a tiny mass difference between the LSP and the chargino. This article presents discovery potential of the 100 TeV future circular hadron collider (FCC) for the wino and higgsino dark matter using a disappearing-track signature. The search strategy to extend the discovery reach to the thermal limits of wino/higgsino dark matter is discussed with detailed studies on the background rate and the reference design of the FCC-hadron detector under possible running scenarios of the FCC-hadron machine. A proposal of modifying the detector layout and several ideas to improve the sensitivity further are also discussed.
One of three barrel inner-tracker layouts considered in this study; the default layout $\#$1. The contour drawn behind the layouts shows the number of chargino decays in 3 TeV wino signal events with 30 ab$^{-1}$ at a given position. The analysis considers the region $|\eta|<1$, denoted by the dotted lines.
Leading jet $p_{T}$ distributions after removing events containing isolated leptons with 30 ab$^{-1}$ at $\sqrt{s}=100$ TeV. The SM backgrounds from $W/Z$+jets and top production processes are shown as filled histograms. Also shown as dashed (dotted) line is the 3 (1) TeV wino (higgsino) signal scaled up by a factor 1000.

Decays of $b$ hadrons into final states containing a $D^0$ meson and a muon are used to measure the $b\bar{b}$ production cross-section in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC. In the pseudorapidity interval $2 < \eta < 6$ and integrated over all transverse momenta we find that the average cross-section to produce $b$-flavoured or $\bar{b}$-flavoured hadrons is ($75.3 \pm 5.4 \pm 13.0$) microbarns.
The cross section for b-flavoured hadrons (HADRON/B) as a function of pseudorapidity in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Cross sections are shown using fragmentation fractions both from LEP and from the Tevatron. See comment above regarding this latter point.
The cross section for b-flavoured hadrons (HADRON/B) over the pseudorapidity range 2.0-6.0 in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Cross sections are shown using fragmentation fractions both from LEP and from the Tevatron. See comment above regarding this latter point.
We have measured inclusive data on $K^+$-meson production in $pp$ collisions at COSY J\"ulich close to the hyperon production threshold and determined the hyperon-nucleon invariant mass spectra. The spectra were decomposed into three parts: $\Lambda p$, $\Sigma^0p$ and $\Sigma^+n$. The cross section for the $\Sigma^+n$ channel was found to be much smaller than a previous measurement in that excess energy region. The data together with previous results at higher energies are compatible with a phase space dependence.

The production of neutral strange particles (K0, Λ) inp Ar,pXe and\(\bar p\)Xe collisions at 200 GeV is investigated in the NA5 experiment using a streamer chamber at the CERN SPS. Results are presented on inclusive cross sections, average multiplicities, and on rapidity and transverse momentum distributions of neutral strange particles.

About 10 000 two-prong events of 8.1 GeV/ c proton-proton interactions in the CERN 2 m. bubble chamber have been analyzed. We study elastic scattering and single-pion production reactions. We give cross sections for isobar production. We attempt to interpret the general features of the pp→pn π + reaction by the Deck mechanism. We compare the production and the decay of δ ++ (1236) with absorption or π Regge trajectory exchange models.

Taking into account the structure of the proton in a very simple way, we find the energy levels and the wave functions for the bound states of a proton in the field of an Abelian magnetic pole, confirming the enhancement of the Rubakov effect.
