The azimuthal dependence of the flow of hadronic energy about the momentum-transfer direction in charged-current deep-inelastic neutrino-nucleon scattering is used to study gluon emission and the transverse momentum 〈kT〉 of partons confined inside the nucleon. A 7-standard-deviation azimuthal asymmetry is observed indicating an average 〈kT〉=0.303±0.041 GeV/c.

Forward Produced Protons and Anti-protons in Deep Inelastic Muon Proton Scattering

The European Muon collaboration Aubert, J.J. ; Bassompierre, G. ; Becks, K.H. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 103 (1981) 388, 1981.
Inspire Record 166178 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31185

A significant rate of forward proton and antiproton production has been observed in 120 and 280 GeV muon-proton scattering. The z and p T 2 distributions are presented. The dependence of the normalized production cross section on the muon variables x and Q 2 is studied.

COMPTON SCATTERING FROM HYDROGEN BETWEEN 5-GeV AND 17-GeV

Measurements have been made on Compton scattering for photon energies between 5 and 17 GeV and t values from -0.06 to -1.1 (GeVc)2. The data were obtained by performing a coincidence between the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center 1.6-GeVc spectrometer and a Lucite shower counter. The scattering appears diffractive out to high t values, but the cross sections seem not to be in good agreement with the prediction of a strict vector-meson-dominance model.

Anti-p-p backward elastic scattering from 0.7 to 2.16 gev/c

Elastic scattering of p¯ on p has been studied for cosθc.m. between -0.88 and -1.0 and Plab(p¯) between 0.70 and 2.16 GeV/c. The momentum dependence of the cross section shows a sharp dip at 0.9 GeV/c and a broad peaking around 1.4 GeV/c. The possibility of the peak resulting from direct formation of boson resonances has been studied. Alternatively, a diffraction model agrees qualitatively with our data and other elastic data at different angles.
