Inclusive and semi-inclusive $ρ^0$ production in 100-GeV/c $\bar{p}p$ interactions has been studied as a function of c.m. rapidity and transverse momentum. Cross sections are compared with those for $\bar{p}p$ interactions at other energies, as well as pp and π±p interactions, over the range ∼2 < $p_{lab} < 200$ GeV/c. A measurement of the $f^0$ production cross section has been made. Calculations of the contribution from $\rho^0$ decay to prompt lepton production are presented.

We have investigated the inclusive production of γ, KS0, Λ0, and Λ¯0 in 100-GeV/c p¯p interactions in the 30-in. hydrogen bubble chamber at Fermilab. We present various inclusive distributions and compare them with corresponding distributions in 100-GeV/c pp interactions and lower-energy p¯p interactions. We find some evidence for Σ(1385) production but none for K*(890) production. We find evidence for a nonzero Λ0 polarization of -0.45 ± 0.21.

Production of ϱ 0 , K ∗0 , K ∗0 , and φ have been measured in proton-proton collisions at the CERN Intersecting Storage Rings (ISR) at low p T in the central region. The transverse mass spectra are well described by exp (− aμ T ), with a = −6.4±0.2 GeV −1 . The cross sections for d σ/ d y| y=0 are 6.5±0.8±1.2 mb for ϱ 0 , 1.9±0.3±0.3 mb for K ∗) , 1.9±03±03 mb for K ∗0 , and 60.±0.12±0.13 mb for φ , where the first error is statistical and the second is sytematic.

The inclusive reaction K + p → K 0 + X is studied at 5, 8.2 and 16 GeV/ c . The energy dependence and the shapes of inclusive spectra in the central region are found to be consistent with double-Regge expansion. With the values obtained for the parameters of the Regge expansion, prediction are made for the behaviour of the cross section at higher energies.

The inclusive production cross sections of pions, kaons, protons, and antiprotons in p p and pp interactions at √ s =53 GeV are compared in the kinematic range | y | < 0.8 and p T < 1.5 GeV/ c . We observe differences in the K + /K − and p /p ratios for the two data samples. Although the bulk of the particles are produced with the same momentum and rapidity distributions in p p and pp collisions, we observe difference in these distributions for produced protons and antiprotons.

The data were obtained at the CERN ISR using the Split Field Magnet spectrometer with a minimum bias trigger. Inclusive production of ϱ0,f, andg0 mesons and ofKs0,K*0 (892), ϕ andK*0(1430)mesons has been measured at <y>∼2.6 and <pT>∼1.1 GeV/c in proton-proton interactions at\(\sqrt s= 52.5\) GeV. The negative particle from the two-body decays of these resonances were identified by a threshold Cerenkov counter and used for triggering. Starting from the measured differential cross section, total inclusive cross sections for the vector and tensor mesons were determined using various parametrizations for they andpT dependence of the differential cross section. The experimental results are discussed in the framework of production models based on the parton picture. The strangeness suppresion factor λ=(0.30±0.10) due toSU(3) symmetry breaking of the quark sea is derived.

Inclusive K ∗0 production is studied in π − p interactions at 16 GeV/ c with x ϝ > 0.2. The K ∗0 is found to be pre-dominantly centrally produced with cross section σ( K ∗0 ) = (72 ± 12) μb for x ϝ > 0.2 and compares closely to data on K ∗0 production in π + p interactions at the same energy.
