Measurements of the QCD colour factors C_A and C_F and of the number of active quark flavours n_f in the process e+e- -> hadrons at high energy are presented. They are based on fits of O(alpha_S**2)+NLLA QCD calculations to distributions of the event shape observables 1-T, C, B_T and B_W measured at centre-of-mass energies from 14 GeV to 189 GeV. Hadronisation effects are approximated with power correction calculations which also depend on the QCD gauge structure. In this approach potential biases from hadronisation models are reduced. Our results for individually measured quantities are n_f = 5.64 +- 1.35, C_A = 2.88 +- 0.27 and C_F = 1.45 +- 0.27 in good agreement with QCD based on the SU(3) symmetry group where n_f=5 for the energies considered here, C_A=3 and C_F=4/3. From simultaneous fits of C_A and C_F we find C_A = 2.84 +- 0.24 and C_F = 1.29 +- 0.18, which is also in good agreement with the QCD expectation.
CA, CF, are the color factors for SU(N) group. NF is the number of the active flavors.
During the 1992 running period of the LEP e + e − collider, the DELPHI experiment accumulated approximately 24 pb − of data at the Z 0 peak. The decays into hadrons and charged leptons have been analysed to give values for the cross sections and leptonic forward-backward asymmetries which are significantly improved with respect to those previously published by the DELPHI collaboration. Incorporating these new data, more precise values for the Z 0 resonance parameters are obtained from model-independent fits. The results are interpreted within the framework of the Standard Model, yielding for the top quark mass m t = 157 −48 +36 (expt.) −20 +19 (Higgs) GeV, and for the effective mixing angle sin 2 θ eff lept = 0.2328 ± 0.0013 (expt.) −0.0003 +0.0001 (Higgs), where (Higgs) represents the variation due to Higgs boson mass in the range 60 to 1000 GeV, with central value 300 GeV.

First result corresponds to the total cross section (i.e. S+T channel), while second one corresponds to S-channel only. An acollinearity less that 10 deg.
Forward-backward asymmetry within the polar angular range 44 < THETA < 136 degrees and acollinearity < 10 degrees.. First result corresponds to the total cross section (i.e. S+T channel), while second one corresponds to S-channel only.
We carried out the energy scan between E CM = 58 and 60 GeV at the TRISTAN e + e − collider to search for the possible narrow resonance suggested by the L3 experiment at LEP. The total cross sections are measured for γγ, multihadron, e + e − and μ + μ − production at ten energy points covering this energy range almost uniformly. The results are in good agreement with the Standard Model predictions, and 95% confidence level upper limits are set to Γ ee × BR of the hypothetical scalar and tensor resonances.
