The results on the differential cross sections as well as the polarizations of $\Lambda$ and $\Sigma^0$ have been obtained for $\bar{K}^0 n$, $\pi^0 \Lambda$, and $\pi^0 \Sigma^0$ production in $K^- p$ interactions at eight $K^-$ momenta between 514 and 750 MeV/$c$. The study is conducted by measuring multiphoton final states with the Crystal Ball spectrometer, using a $K^-$ beam from the Alternating Gradient Synchrotron of BNL. The results improve substantially the existing data, allowing a detailed reexamination of the $\Lambda^*$ and $\Sigma^*$ states in our energy range.

The\(K^ -p \to \bar K^0 n\) charge exchange differential cross-section has been measured at 30 GeV/c with high statistical accuracy and high angular resolution. The experiment was made at the IHEP 70 GeV accelerator, by using a hodoscope hadron calorimeter to detect KL0. The cross-section shows a dip at small |t|, which indicates a dominance of spin-flip amplitudes in ρ and A2 exchanges in thet-channel.

The cross sections for the line-reversed reaction pairs K+n→K0p and K−p→K¯0n, and K+p→K0Δ++ and K−n→K¯0Δ− have been determined with high statistics and good relative normalization at 8.36 and 12.8 GeV/c in a spectrometer experiment at Stanford Linear Accelerator Center. The cross sections for the K+-induced reactions are larger than for the K−, contrary to the expectations of weakly-exchange-degenerate Regge-pole models. The ratio of the reaction cross sections is about the same as at lower energies and shows little change with momentum transfer.

Measurements were made of the differential cross sections for the charge exchange of K − mesons on protons at momenta of 25 and 40 GeV/ c using a high-precision spectrometer with no magnetic field. In the range 5–40 GeV/ c the reaction cross section follows a power-law dependence p K − −1.52 . In the snall momentum transfer region (− t ⪅ m π 2 ) a minimum is observed, similar to that discovered at lower energies. The differential cross sections t = 0 are considerably less than those predicted by the Regge-pole model. The parameters of the effective trajectory are determined.

We report the results of a precise measurement of the K−p→K¯0n cross section between 515 and 1065 MeV/c in steps of 10 MeV/c. The statistical errors are less than 1%, a major improvement in accuracy over previous work. We discuss in detail the experimental apparatus and the corrections made to the data. No evidence is found for the new I=1 K¯N resonances at 546 and 602 MeV/c K− momenta reported recently by Carroll et al.

In this letter results are presented on the reactions K − p → K 0 n and K − p → K − p from a high statistics CERN 2-metre hydrogen bubble chamber exposure at 4.15 GeV/ c . The behaviour of the differential cross section as a function of four-momentum transfer shows remarkable similarities between the two reactions studied. From a comparison of our data with K + p elastic scattering at 4.27 GeV/ c we draw some conclusions concerning the magnitude of the contributing amplitudes.

New data on the K−p elastic and charge exchange reactions are presented in the K− momentum range between 1.934 GeV/c and 2.516 GeV/c. A conventional energy-dependent partial-wave analysis covering the widerPK- range from 1.6 GeV/c to 2.516 GeV/c is presented together with a p.w.a. in which the duality ands-helicity conservation ideas are explicitly imposed in the fits. Finally the new Y*’s observed in this experiment are classified inSU3 multiplets.

Differential cross sections for the reactions K−p→K¯0n, K−p→K¯0Δ0, and K+p→K0Δ++ in the region 0<|t|<1.2 GeV2 are presented from a wire-spark-chamber spectrometer experiment performed in a 13-GeV/c separated beam. The results are based on 20 000 Δ++ events, 4600 Δ0 events, and 8500 n events. The line-reversed pair of Δ reactions is used to test Regge exchange degeneracy and an SU(3) sum rule. The energy dependence of all three reactions is studied by comparison with other experiments.
