The production ofK* resonances has been studied in the reaction\(K^ -p \to \bar K^0 \pi ^ -p\) at 8.25 GeV/c. The data comes from a high statistics bubble chamber experiment (180 events/μb). Masses, widths and production cross-sections have been determined for the first threeK*'s. The contributions from natural and unnatural parity exchange have been obtained for theK*(890) and theK*(1420). A partial wave analysis of theK π system from threshold to 1.9 GeV provides evidence for a 0+ enhancement near 1.4 GeV which could be interpreted as the κ(1350).

The reaction K−p→K¯0π−p has been studied at 100 and 175 GeV/c and the reaction π−p→K0K−p at 50, 100, and 175 GeV/c. Both reactions are dominated by production of resonances, K*(890), K*(1430) and A2(1320), A2(2040), respectively. Production cross sections, t distributions, and decay-angular distributions are studied. Isoscalar natural-parity exchange is dominant. The energy dependence of the K* and A2 resonance production between 10 and 175 GeV/c is well described by a Regge-pole model. Our data on A2 corrects that in an earlier paper.

In a high statistics (180 events/μb) bubble chamber study of the reaction fx K − p → K 0 π − p at 8.25 GeV c , we observe a K 0 π − state at 2088±20 MeV with a width 170 +100 −50 MeV, produced with a cross section of 3.6±1.2 μ b. In addition we observe this state in the channels K ∗ (890)ππ , ϱ K π , ω K π with a combined cross section of 7.1±2.6 μ b, and possibly K ∗ (890)πππ .

We present experimental results and a partial-wave analysis of the low-mass ( K π) 0 systems produced in the reactions K − p → K π N at 14.3 GeV/ c . The main results concern the production mechanisms of the K ∗ (890) and K ∗ (1420) . We also extract the s-wave component of the K π system as a function of mass.
THE ERRORS QUOTED (EXCEPT FOR THE FIRST REACTION) ARE MAINLY AN ESTIMATE OF THE SYSTEMATIC UNCERTAINTIES.

We present the first evidence for K ∗ (1780) production in a non-exchange channel. This comes from a study of the reaction K − p → K° π − p at 14.3 GeV/ c . We also present evidence for K ∗ ° (1780) production in the charge exchange channel K − p → K − π + n. No significant K ππ , K ω and K η decay modes are found. The decay angular distribution, the spin-parity assignments and the production mechanism are discussed. With plausible assumptions on the production mechanism, the J P = 3 − spin-parity is favoured.
