The combination of searches for squarks and gluinos in final states containing jets, missing transverse momentum and zero or one electron or muon is presented. In the MSUGRA/CMSSM framework with tan beta=3, A_0=0 and mu>0, squarks and gluinos of equal mass are excluded below 815 GeV. These are the most stringent limits to date.

This Letter presents the first search for supersymmetry in final states containing one isolated electron or muon, jets, and missing transverse momentum from sqrt{s} = 7 TeV proton-proton collisions at the LHC. The data were recorded by the ATLAS experiment during 2010 and correspond to a total integrated luminosity of 35 pb-1. No excess above the standard model background expectation is observed. Limits are set on the parameters of the minimal supergravity framework, extending previous limits. For A_0 = 0 GeV, tan beta = 3, mu > 0 and for equal squark and gluino masses, gluino masses below 700 GeV are excluded at 95% confidence level.

The normalised differential top quark-antiquark production cross section is measured as a function of the jet multiplicity in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV at the LHC with the CMS detector. The measurement is performed in both the dilepton and lepton + jets decay channels using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 inverse femtobarns. Using a procedure to associate jets to decay products of the top quarks, the differential cross section of the t t-bar production is determined as a function of the additional jet multiplicity in the lepton + jets channel. Furthermore, the fraction of events with no additional jets is measured in the dilepton channel, as a function of the threshold on the jet transverse momentum. The measurements are compared with predictions from perturbative quantum chromodynamics and no significant deviations are observed.
