Results are presented from the first p p colliding beam runs at the CERN ISR, using the UA5 streamer chamber detector. p p interactions at s = 53 GeV are compared with pp data taken in the same experiment. The results are in good agreement with extrapolations of low-energy p p data.

Properties of Inclusive pi+- Production in 100-GeV/c anti-Proton-Proton Interactions

Inclusive spectra are presented for π± production in 100-GeV/cp¯p interactions. The rapidity distribution for the difference (p¯p−pp) approximately scales as the difference in total cross sections in the fragmentation region between 12 and 100 GeV/c and exhibits an approximate s−12dependence in the central region.
