The first measurement of two-pion Bose-Einstein correlations in central Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}} = 2.76$ TeV at the Large Hadron Collider is presented. We observe a growing trend with energy now not only for the longitudinal and the outward but also for the sideward pion source radius. The pion homogeneity volume and the decoupling time are significantly larger than those measured at RHIC.

The ALICE Collaboration has measured inclusive J/psi production in pp collisions at a center of mass energy sqrt(s)=2.76 TeV at the LHC. The results presented in this Letter refer to the rapidity ranges |y|<0.9 and 2.5<y<4 and have been obtained by measuring the electron and muon pair decay channels, respectively. The integrated luminosities for the two channels are L^e_int=1.1 nb^-1 and L^mu_int=19.9 nb^-1, and the corresponding signal statistics are N_J/psi^e+e-=59 +/- 14 and N_J/psi^mu+mu-=1364 +/- 53. We present dsigma_J/psi/dy for the two rapidity regions under study and, for the forward-y range, d^2sigma_J/psi/dydp_t in the transverse momentum domain 0<p_t<8 GeV/c. The results are compared with previously published results at sqrt(s)=7 TeV and with theoretical calculations.

K ∗0 (890) production in the hyperchange exchange reaction π − p → K ∗0 (890) Λ 0 Σ 0 at 10 GeV/ c (28 448 events) is discussed. An amplitude analysis in the t ′ range up to 1 GeV 2 shows that the production mechanism is dominated by natural parity exchange (∼84%). Comparisons are made with predictions from a Regge model and a quark model.

A sample of 56 909 events of the reaction π − p→K + K − n at 10 GeV/ c has been measured in the Omega Spectrometer at CERN. In the K + K − system, besides production of mesons in the S ∗ /φ, f 0 / A 2 , g /ω ∗ and h regions we observe a new structure at 2.20 GeV with a width of the order of 200 MeV.

We present results on an amplitude analysis of the K + K − system produced in the reaction π − p→K + K − n from threshold up to 2.2 GeV. The branching ratios of f 0 and f' to K K have been determined. In the low mass region of the K K system the observation of an S-wave enhancement at 1.3 GeV and the interference of the f 0 -A 2 -f' mesons are studied. We observe a 3 − structure in the mass region of 1.7 GeV which is consistent with g 0 production. With this interpretation the branching ratio g→ K K has been determined. Evidence for a new structure in the J p = 2 + wave around 1.8 GeV with a width of ∼200 MeV is presented.

The reactions π − p → p π − and π − p → p ϱ − ( ϱ − → π − π 0 ) at 10 GeV/ c with the proton in the forward direction in the c.m.s. are discussed on the basis of 953 elastic scattering events and 2240 events of the reaction π − p → p π − π 0 . The total backward cross sections are 0.52±0.10 and 1.52±0.28 μ b, respectively. In both cases the production mechanism is compatible with the dominance of the baryonic Δ δ Regge trajectory exchange. The ϱ − decay angular distributions are studied in the u -channel helicity frame and the spin density matrix elements are presented as functions of u .

Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider, we measure the Born cross section of $e^{+}e^{-}\rightarrow p\bar{p}$ at 12 center-of-mass energies from 2232.4 to 3671.0 MeV. The corresponding effective electromagnetic form factor of the proton is deduced under the assumption that the electric and magnetic form factors are equal $(|G_{E}|= |G_{M}|)$. In addition, the ratio of electric to magnetic form factors, $|G_{E}/G_{M}|$, and $|G_{M}|$ are extracted by fitting the polar angle distribution of the proton for the data samples with larger statistics, namely at $\sqrt{s}=$ 2232.4 and 2400.0 MeV and a combined sample at $\sqrt{s}$ = 3050.0, 3060.0 and 3080.0 MeV, respectively. The measured cross sections are in agreement with recent results from BaBar, improving the overall uncertainty by about 30\%. The $|G_{E}/G_{M}|$ ratios are close to unity and consistent with BaBar results in the same $q^{2}$ region, which indicates the data are consistent with the assumption that $|G_{E}|=|G_{M}|$ within uncertainties.
Summary of the Born cross section $\sigma_\text{Born}$, the effective FF $|G|$, and the related variables used to calculate the Born cross sections at the different c.m.energies $\sqrt{s}$, where $N_\text{obs}$ is the number of candidate events, $N_\text{bkg}$ is the estimated background yield, $\varepsilon^\prime=\varepsilon\times(1+\delta)$ is the product of detection efficiency $\varepsilon$ and the radiative correction factor $(1+\delta)$, and $L$ is the integrated luminosity. The first errors are statistical, and the second systematic.
Using data samples collected with the BESIII detector operating at the BEPCII collider at center-of-mass energies from 3.810 to 4.600 GeV, we perform a study of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ and $\pi^0 J/\psi$. Statistically significant signals of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ are observed at $\sqrt{s}$ = 4.190, 4.210, 4.220, 4.230, 4.245, 4.260, 4.360 and 4.420 GeV, while no signals of $e^{+}e^{-} \to \pi^{0} J/\psi$ are observed. The measured energy-dependent Born cross section for $e^{+}e^{-} \to \eta J/\psi$ shows an enhancement around 4.2~GeV. The measurement is compatible with an earlier measurement by Belle, but with a significantly improved precision.

The table shows the CM energy $\sqrt{s}$, integrated luminosity $\mathcal{L}_\mathrm{int}$, number of observed $\eta$ events $N^\mathrm{obs}_{\eta}(\mu^{+}\mu^{-})$/$N^\mathrm{obs}_{\eta}(e^{+}e^{-})$ from the fit, efficiency $\epsilon_{\mu}/\epsilon_{e}$, radiative correction factor $(1+\delta^{r})$, vacuum polarization factor $(1+\delta^{v})$, Born cross section $\sigma^{B}(\mu^{+}\mu^{-})$/$\sigma^{B}(e^{+}e^{-})$ and combined Born cross section $\sigma^{B}_\mathrm{Com}$. The first uncertainties are statistical and the second systematic.
