Measurement of the Parameters of the $\psi^{\prime\prime}$(3770) Resonance

We present a measurement of the cross section for hadron production by e+e− annihilation in the vicinity of the previously observed resonance near 3.77 GeV. The data are used to determine the parameters of the ψ(3770) resonance. The values found are: mass, 3764±5 MeV/c2, total width, 23.5±5 MeV, and partial width to electron pairs, 276±50 eV.

BREIT-WIGNER RESONANCE PLUS BACKGROUND FIT TO RADIATIVELY CORRECTED DATA YIELDS RESONANCE MASS OF 3764 +- 5 MEV, TOTAL WIDTH OF 23.5 +- 5 MEV AND PARTIAL WIDTH TO ELECTRON PAIRS OF 276 +- 50 EV.

PEAK CROSS SECTION FOR D MESON PAIR PRODUCTION AT PSI(3770) RESONANCE. J/PSI, PSI(3684) AND CONTINUUM BACKGROUND (R=2.5) SUBTRACTED.

Measurements of multiple particle production at ADONE, the Frascati e + e − storage ring, have been carried out at C.M. energies 1.4 GeV to 2.4 GeV. The hadronic nature of the observed particles is discussed and a lower limit of 30 nbarn set for the total multiparticle cross section.

A search for narrow resonances in the reaction e + e − → hadrons in the mass regions 1915–2345 MeV and 2970–3090 MeV has been perforned at ADONE, the Frascati storage ring. With 90% confidence level our data exclude the production of narrow resonances with integrated cross section larger than 20% of the integrated cross section for production of the J/Ψ (3100 MeV).

Evidence for a Resonant Structure of the Hadron Production from e+ e- Annihilations in the 1700-MeV-1950-MeV Center-Of-Mass Energy Region

We present experimental evidence for a resonant behaviour of the hadron production from e + e − annihilations at the e + e − storage ring ADONE. A Breit-Wigner fit to the enhancement present between 1800 and 1850 MeV gives the following parameters M = 1812 −13 +7 MeV, Γ = 34 −15 +21 MeV.

Multi-Pion Production Below 1.1-GeV by e+ e- Annihilation

The production of multipion events by e + e − annihilation has been measured at centre of mass energies 915,990 and 1076 MeV. Both channels e + e − → π + π − π o and e + e − → π + π − π + π − have been analysed. An energy threshold effect analysed. An energy threshold effect around 919 MeV ( m ω + m π o ) has been evidenced for the π + π − π o π o channel and the cross section is consistent with the quasi two-body process e + e − → ωπ o . The cross section for π + π − π + π − is lower by an order of magnitude and increases with the energy.
