The weak coupling constants of the electron, gVe and gAe, are determined from measurements of the total and differential cross sections for the reaction νμe→νμe. The data also place limits of interest on the magnitudes of a neutrino charge radius and a possible neutrino magnetic dipole moment.

Cross-sections and Some Features of Charm Photoproduction at $\gamma$ Energies of 20-{GeV} to 70-{GeV}

Phys.Lett.B 187 (1987) 437-441, 1987.
Inspire Record 230940 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30199

We report some results on charm photoproduction at γ energies ranging from 20 to 70 GeV. 36 events with pairs of charmed particles have been found in emulsions. The computed total cross section is (230±57)nb/nucleon. Frequencies of different production channels and some distributions are presented and compared with the predictions from a photon-gluon fusion model with string fragmentation.

The Production of Prompt Positrons at Low Transverse Momentum Increases With the Square of the Associated Charged Multiplicity

The Axial Field Spectrometer collaboration Åkesson, T. ; Albrow, M.G. ; Almehed, S. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 192 (1987) 463-470, 1987.
Inspire Record 244887 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30156

We have measured the production of prompt positrons in pp collisions at √ s = 63 GeV and y = 0 in the p T interval 0.12< p T <1.0 GeV/c. The results indicate that the production of positrons at low p T (<0.4 GeV/ c ) is proportional to the square of the mean multiplicity in the central region | y | < 1. Such a quadratic dependence is not expected from final-state sources such as hadronic bremsstrahlung or hadronic decays, but is natural in models where low mass electron pairs are produced by interactions of constituents created during the collision.

Observation of Octet and Decuplet Hyperons in $e^+ e^-$ Annihilation at 10-{GeV} Center-of-mass Energy

The ARGUS collaboration Albrecht, H. ; Binder, U. ; Bockmann, P. ; et al.
Phys.Lett.B 183 (1987) 419-424, 1987.
Inspire Record 236982 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30227

Results on hyperon production are reported for data accumulated at 10 GeV centre-of-mass energy with the ARGUS detector. Signals for both the octet states Λ, Σ 0 and Ξ − and the decuplet states Σ ± (1385), Ξ 0 (1530) and Ω − are observed 1 (references to a specific state are to be interpreted as also implying the charge conjugate state), some for the first time in e + e − annihilation. Baryon rates from γ dir (1S) decays are enhanced by a factor of about 3 over the continuum.

>A Measurement of the $\bar{p} p \to \pi^+ \pi^-$ Reaction for 158-{MeV}/$c \le p(\bar{p}) \le$ 275-{MeV}/$c$

A measurement of the total cross section for the reaction p p → π + π − has been performed for seven values of the incident momentum between 158 and 275 MeV/ c . The values obtained, if compared with previous results at higher momenta, agree with a 1/ß dependence. The differential cross section sssumed over the whole incident momentum range has also been measured and the result of a fit by Legendre polynomials is given.

Differential Cross-sections for $\pi^+ P$ and $\pi^- P$ Elastic Scattering From 378-{MeV}/c to 687-{MeV}/c

Sadler, M.E. ; Briscoe, W.J. ; Fitzgerald, D.H. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.D 35 (1987) 2718-2735, 1987.
Inspire Record 250023 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.23362

Differential cross sections have been measured for π+p and π−p elastic scattering at 378, 408, 427, 471, 509, 547, 586, 625, 657, and 687 MeV/c in the angular range -0.8<cosθc.m.<0.8. The scattered pion and recoil proton were detected in coincidence using scintillation-counter hodoscopes. A liquid-hydrogen target was used except for measurements at forward angles, in which a CH2 target was used. Statistical uncertainties in the data are typically less than 1%. Systematic uncertainties in acceptance and detection efficiency are estimated to be 1%. Absolute normalization uncertainties are 2–3 % for most of the data. The measurements are compared with previous data and with the results of recent partial-wave analyses. The data are fit with Legendre expansions from which total elastic cross sections are obtained.

ANTI-P P TOTAL CROSS-SECTIONS BELOW 420-MEV/C

Phys.Lett.B 194 (1987) 563-567, 1987.
Inspire Record 253124 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.30120

p̄p total cross sections have been measured from 220 to 413 MeV/ c in small (⩽ 10 MeV/ c ) steps of momentum with statistics of ± 0.5 %. There is no evidence for structure in the cross section, and a limit of 8 mb MeV/ c 2 is set with 90% confidence on the strength of any narrow resonance down to 250 MeV/ c .
