We have found events of the form e++e−→e±+μ∓+missingenergy, in which no other charged particles or photons are detected. Most of these events are detected at or above a center-of-mass energy of 4 GeV. The missing-energy and missing-momentum spectra require that at least two additional particles be produced in each event. We have no conventional explanation for these events.

The total momentum and transverse momentum spectra of electrons in e+e− annihilation at 29 GeV have been measured. The inclusive cross section is determined to be 14.4±1.6±5.2 pb for momenta greater than 2 GeV/c. The average semielectronic branching ratios of charm and bottom quarks are measured to be (6.3±1.2±2.1)% and (11.6±2.1±1.7)%, respectively. The fragmentation function for bottom quarks is determined to be peaked at high z, with 〈z〉b=0.75±0.05±0.04.

A search was made among ν μ charged current events collected in the NOMAD experiment for the reaction: ν μ +N→μ − +D ★+ + hadrons ↪ D 0 +π + ↪ K − +π + . A high purity D ★+ sample composed of 35 events was extracted. The D ★+ yield in ν μ charged current interactions was measured to be T =(0.79±0.17(stat.)±0.10(syst.))%. The mean fraction of the hadronic jet energy taken by the D ★+ is 0.67±0.02(stat.)±0.02(syst.). The distributions of the fragmentation variables z, P T 2 and x F for D ★+ are also presented.

The reactions e+e−→e+e− and e+e−→μ+μ− have been measured at center-of-mass energies 3.0, 3.8, and 4.8 GeV and production angles of 50°<θ<130° over all azimuthal angles. Agreement with quantum electrodynamics is excellent. New limits for cutoff parameters in quantum-electrodynamic-breakdown models are given.

The differential cross sections for lepton pair production in e+e− annihilation at 29 GeV have been measured and found to be in good agreement with the standard model of the electroweak interaction. With the assumption of e−μ−τ universality, the weak neutral-current couplings are determined to be ga2=0.23±0.05 and gv2=0.03±0.04.

A study of strange particle production in muon neutrino charged current interactions has been performed using the data from the NOMAD experiment. Yields of neutral strange particles K0s, Lambda, AntiLambda have been measured. Mean multiplicities are reported as a function of the event kinematic variables Enu, W2 and Q2 as well as of the variables describing particle behaviour within a hadronic jet: xF, z and pT2. Decays of resonances and heavy hyperons with identified K0s and Lambda in the final state have been analyzed. Clear signals corresponding to K*+-, Sigma*+-, Xi- and Sigma0 have been observed.

The inclusive production of the meson resonances $\rho^{0}(770)$, $f_0(980)$ and $f_2(1270)$ in neutrino-nucleus charged current interactions has been studied with the NOMAD detector exposed to the wide band neutrino beam generated by 450 GeV protons at the CERN SPS. For the first time the $f_{0}(980)$ meson is observed in neutrino interactions. The statistical significance of its observation is 6 standard deviations. The presence of $f_{2}(1270)$ in neutrino interactions is reliably established. The average multiplicity of these three resonances is measured as a function of several kinematic variables. The experimental results are compared to the multiplicities obtained from a simulation based on the Lund model. In addition, the average multiplicity of $\rho^{0}(770)$ in antineutrino - nucleus interactions is measured.

Pt of the leptons is determined relative to the thrust axis. B-DECAY, C-DECAY, C-SECONDARY and BKG are corresponded to fractions of leptons originationg from primary BQ deacy, primary CQ decay, secondary decay, and from background.
We report the first precision measurements of the scaled momentum, the charge multiplicity, and the thrust of hadronic jets in the Breit frame in Deep Inelastic Scattering ν μ N and ν ̄ μ N charged current events over the Q 2 range from 1 to 100 GeV 2 . The neutrino data, obtained in the NOMAD experiment at the CERN SPS, extend the Q 2 -evolution of these parameters by two orders of magnitude, and with commensurate precision, when compared to those reported by the ep and e + e − experiments.
Average neutrino energy. Peak postion of distribution on log(1/z) is presented.
We have searched for the lepton-flavor-violating decay D0→e±μ∓ in 204 pb−1 of e+e− annihilation data at Ec.m.=29 GeV from the Mark II detector. No candidates were found; we estimate an upper limit on the cross section times branching ratio of σ(e+e−→D0,D¯0; inclusive)B(D0→e±μ∓)<0.35 pb at the 90% confidence level. Simple assumptions yield the rough limit B(D0→e±μ∓)<2.1×10−3. AE.
