We describe a search for psi(3770) decay to two-body non-DDbar final states in e+e- data produced by the CESR collider and analyzed with the CLEO-c detector. Vector-pseudoscalar production of Rho0Pi0, Rho+Pi-, OmegaPi0, PhiPi0, RhoEta, OmegaEta, PhiEta, RhoEtaPrime, OmegaEtaPrime, PhiEtaPrime, Kstar0 K0bar, and Kstar+K- is studied along with that of BOnePi (BOne0Pi0 and BOne+Pi-) and Pi+Pi-Pi0. A statistically significant signal is found for PhiEta, at an excess cross section of (2.4 +- 0.6) pb [Gamma_{PhiEta} (psi(3770)) =(74 +- 16)Mev], and a suggestive suppression of Pi+Pi-Pi0 and RhoPi. We conclude with form factor determinations for OmegaPi0, RhoEta, and RhoEtaPrime.

We present measurements for the baryon-exchange reaction π − p→ Λ K 0 at 5 GeV/ c over the range − u <2(GeV/ c ) 2 . The differential cross section is obtained from events produced on a liquid hydrogen target. These data are combined with events produced on a butanol polarized target and the parameters P , A , and R are then determined from an analysis of the decay angular distribution of the forward-going Λ. From our data it is possible to determine the magnitudes and the relative phase of the two invariant amplitudes A ′ and B . The consequences for the ratio B / A ′ are discussed in detail.

These results are: (a) differential cross section with high statistics for K − p → K 0 n at 5 GeV /c (24 000 events) and at 8 GeV/ c (11 000 events) for t′ <2.0 (GeV/ c ) 2 ; (b) differential cross section and polarization for K − p → Λπ 0 (backward peak) at 5 GeV/ c for u ′ < 1.4 GeV/ c ) 2 ; and (c) differential cross section for K − p → K 0 Δ 0 (1232) at 5 GeV /c for t′ < 1.2 ( GeV /c) 2 . We compare our results with existing data and draw some phenomenological conclusions.

Inclusive production of ifπ ± , K ± and p has been studied near charm threshold for c.m. energies between 3.6 and 5.2 GeV. Differential and scaling cross sections together with particle multiplicities have been determinated. By comparing data below and above charm threshold the charm contribution to if π ± and K ± production has been extracted. A comparison has been made between inclusice p production and inelastic electron-proton scattering. To study differences between three-gluon annihilation and two-quark production of the spectra from J/ decay and from non-resonant production at 3.6 GeV has been compared.

Polarization in π+p→K+Σ+ is also reported at 6.0, 10.0, and 14.0 GeV/c. At small |t|, the cross section for π+p→K+Σ+ is well described by an exponential Aebt with slopes in the range b≈8−10 (GeV/c)−2; for |t|>0.5 (GeV/c)2 this slope decreases considerably. The cross section for π+p→K+Y*+(1385) is well described for |t|>0.2 (GeV/c)2 by a single exponential of slope about half that for π+p→K+Σ+; there is no break near |t|>0.5 (GeV/c)2. We observe a dip in this cross section near t=0. The polarization in π+p→K+Σ+ is consistent with zero for |t|<0.4 (GeV/c)2 and becomes large and positive for larger |t|.

A partial-wave analysis of the K 0 π + π − system from the reaction K − p → K 0 π + π − n has been carried out using data obtained at 8.25 GeV/ c in a high-statistics experiment. A strong signal appears in the 1 + SO + (K ∗ π) wave at the Q 2 mass (≈ 1.4 GeV). The 1 + S0 + (ϱK) wave behaves rather like a background and does not exhibit the characteristics of a resonance. A prominent signal also appears in the 2 + D wave (via K ∗ π and ϱK); it is interpreted as the K ∗ (1430). In the L region (1.6–2.1) GeV, there is evidence for the 3 − K ∗ (1780) while the 2 − wave also gives some contribution.
