The angular distributions for the two annihilation channels p ̄ p →π + π − and p ̄ p → K + K − have been measured at 6.2 GeV/ c . The two-pion channel shows peripheral peaks for π + and π − going forward, and the two-kaon channel shows a peripheral peak for the K − going forward. The results have been compared with the line-reversed elastic backward scattering reactions and also with a constituent interchange model.

π−p elastic scattering is studied at an incident π− beam momentum of 3.92 GeV/c. From the analysis of about 38 000 elastic events we give the differential cross-section for −t>0.06 (GeV)2. The known structures at −t ≈ 0.8 and 2.8 (GeV)2 are seen. An additional possible structure is present in the backward hemisphere.

A measurement of the Q^2, W and t dependences of deeply virtual Compton scattering at HERA

Inspire Record 805219 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.52962

Deeply virtual Compton scattering has been measured in e^+p collisions at HERA with the ZEUS detector using an integrated luminosity of 61.1 pb^-1. Cross sections are presented as a function of the photon virtuality, Q^2, and photon-proton centre-of-mass energy, W, for a wide region of the phase space, Q^2>~1.5 GeV^2 and 40<W<170 GeV. A subsample of events in which the scattered proton is measured in the leading proton spectrometer, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 31.3 pb^-1, is used for the first direct measurement of the differential cross section as a function of t, where t is the square of the four-momentum transfer at the proton vertex.

Study of the G Meson Produced in the Reaction pi- p --> omega pi- p at 11.2-GeV/c

We have studied the reaction π − p → X − p followed by the decay X − → ωπ − at 11.2 GeV/ c . The partial-wave analysis in the mass range 1.36–2.0 GeV shows a clear structure in the J P = 3 − , m = 0 wave peaking at 1.67 GeV with a width of ∼0.21 GeV. We interpret this result as resulting from the g → ωπ decay. The differential cross section d σ d t is in agreement with the production of the g-meson through one-pion exchange.

MEASUREMENT OF J / psi PRODUCTION IN 280-GeV/c mu+ IRON INTERACTIONS

Virtual photoproduction of J/ ψ mesons has been measured for 280 GeV muon iron interactions in an iron/scintillator calorimeter target. The J/ψ's were identified by their decay into muon pairs. 315 events were observed, about half of which were elastic. The t , Q 2 and v distributions of these elastic events are presented. The v dependence is measured between 40 and 180 Mev and compared with lower energy photoproduction results. The Q 2 dependence is compared with the predictions of the vector dominance model.

Study of the Reaction K- p --> anti-K0 n at Momenta of 25-GeV/c and 40-GeV/c

Inspire Record 120460 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.35232

Measurements were made of the differential cross sections for the charge exchange of K − mesons on protons at momenta of 25 and 40 GeV/ c using a high-precision spectrometer with no magnetic field. In the range 5–40 GeV/ c the reaction cross section follows a power-law dependence p K − −1.52 . In the snall momentum transfer region (− t ⪅ m π 2 ) a minimum is observed, similar to that discovered at lower energies. The differential cross sections t = 0 are considerably less than those predicted by the Regge-pole model. The parameters of the effective trajectory are determined.

Study of rho0 Production in gamma d, gamma p and gamma n Reactions at 7.5-GeV/c Using Linearly Polarized Photon Beam

Nucl.Phys.B 69 (1974) 445-453, 1974.
Inspire Record 94508 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.32344

The reaction γ d→d ππ , γ p→p ππ and γ n→n ππ were studied in the SLAC 82″ deuterium filled bubble chamber, exposed to a linearly polarized photon beam of 7.5 GeV. All three reactions are dominated by ϱ 0 production. The differential cross section has a slope of ∼6.5 GeV −2 for nucleon reactions and a slope of ∼27 GeV −2 for coherent deuteron reactions. The behaviour of the density matrix elements shows that ϱ production conserves s -channel c.m.s. helicity and is dominated by natural parity exchange.
