The production of $\Upsilon$ mesons in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt=7$ and $8\,\mathrm{TeV}$ is studied with the LHCb detector using data samples corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ and $2\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ respectively. The production cross-sections and ratios of cross-sections are measured as functions of the meson transverse momentum $p_T$ and rapidity $y$, for $p_T<30\,\mathrm{GeV}/c$} and $2.0<y<4.5$.

Measurement of the forward $Z$ boson production cross-section in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV

The LHCb collaboration Aaij, Roel ; Adeva, Bernardo ; Adinolfi, Marco ; et al.
JHEP 08 (2015) 039, 2015.
Inspire Record 1373300 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.2114

A measurement of the production cross-section for $Z$ bosons that decay to muons is presented. The data were recorded by the LHCb detector during $pp$ collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, and correspond to an integrated luminosity of 1.0 fb$^{-1}$. The cross-section is measured for muons in the pseudorapidity range $2.0 < \eta < 4.5$ with transverse momenta $p_{T} > 20$ GeV/c. The dimuon mass is restricted to $60 < M_{\mu^{+}\mu^{-}} < 120$ GeV/c$^{2}$. The measured cross-section is $$\sigma_{Z\rightarrow\mu^{+}\mu^{-}} = (76.0 \pm 0.3 \pm 0.5 \pm 1.0 \pm 1.3) \, \text{pb}$$ where the uncertainties are due to the sample size, systematic effects, the beam energy and the luminosity. This result is in good agreement with theoretical predictions at next-to-next-to-leading order in perturbative quantum chromodynamics. The cross-section is also measured differentially as a function of kinematic variables of the $Z$ boson. Ratios of the production cross-sections of electroweak bosons are presented using updated LHCb measurements of $W$ boson production. A precise test of the Standard Model is provided by the measurement of the ratio $$\frac{\sigma_{W^{+}\rightarrow\mu^{+}\nu_{\mu}} + \sigma_{W^{-}\rightarrow\mu^{-}\bar{\nu}_{\mu}}}{\sigma_{Z\rightarrow\mu^{+}\mu^{-}}} = 20.63\pm0.09\pm0.12\pm0.05,$$ where the uncertainty due to luminosity cancels.

Electromagnetic Form-Factors of the Proton at Low Four-Momentum Transfer

Inspire Record 850 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.31992

The 300 MeV electron linear accelerator of Mainz has been used to measure the angular dependence of the electron-proton elastic scattering cross sections at seven different energies for squared four-momentum transfers between 0.13 and 4.7 fm −2 . The proton form factors have been extracted from the cross sections by means of Rosenbluth plots and by fitting parametrized analytical functions directly to the cross sections. The best fit is compared to the data of other laboratories. The previously reported deviations from the dipole fit have been confirmed. From the form factors at q 2 <0.9 fm 2 the proton r.m.s. radius has been determined. A determination of the spectral function of the nucleon isovector form factor G E V in the time-like is obtained using a realistic ϱ resonance.

The energy dependence of the analyzing power A y for the pp → π + d reaction was measured during polarized beam acceleration from 500 to 800 MeV, using an internal target inserted into the beam every acceleration cycle. The measurements were made with the pion laboratory angle fixed at 68° and with incident proton energy bins varying from 10 to 30 MeV in width. The statistical accuracy per bin is ΔA y ⋍ 0.06 .

Electromagnetic form-factors of the proton at low four-momentum transfer

Nucl.Phys.A 222 (1974) 269-275, 1974.
Inspire Record 94754 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.37116

Electron-proton elastic scattering cross sections were measured at low four-momentum transfers squared ( q 2 from 0.13 to 2.15 fm −2 ) at six different energies between 150 and 275 MeV. The electric ( G E ) and magnetic ( G M ) form factors of the proton have been determined by Rosenbluth plots and independently by using analytical functions for the form factors to fit the cross sections. The electric form factor is found to deviate significantly from the dipole fit. From the slope of the form factor functions at q 2 = 0 the rms radii of the charge and the magnetic moment distribution were determined. The charge rms radius is found to be more than 10% larger than the value given by the dipole fit.

Energy dependent measurements of the p p elastic analyzing power and narrow dibaryon resonances

Nucl.Phys.A 569 (1994) 791-820, 1994.
Inspire Record 320015 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.38528

The energy dependence of the pp elastic analyzing power has been measured using an internal target during polarized beam acceleration. The data were obtained in incident-energy steps varying from 4 to 17 MeV over an energy range from 0.5 to 2.0 GeV. The statistical uncertainty of the analyzing power is typically less than 0.01. A narrow structure is observed around 2.17 GeV in the two-proton invariant mass distribution. A possible explanation for the structure with narrow resonances is discussed.

Measurement of $B_c^+$ production in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV

Phys.Rev.Lett. 114 (2015) 132001, 2015.
Inspire Record 1327230 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.22229

Production of $B_c^+$ mesons in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 8 TeV is studied with data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $2.0~{\rm fb}^{-1}$ recorded by the LHCb experiment. The ratio of production cross-sections times branching fractions between the $B_c^+\to J/\psi \pi^+$ and $B^+\to J/\psi K^+$ decays is measured as a function of transverse momentum and rapidity in the regions $0 < p_{\rm T} < 20~{\rm GeV}/c$ and $2.0 < y < 4.5$. The ratio in this kinematic range is measured to be $(0.683\pm0.018\pm0.009)\%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic.

Absolute p p elastic cross-sections from 492-MeV to 793-MeV

Simon, A.J. ; Glass, G. ; McNaughton, M.W. ; et al.
Phys.Rev.C 48 (1993) 662-675, 1993.
Inspire Record 363783 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.26001

Absolute pp-elastic-differential cross sections were measured at incident energies 492, 576, 642, 728, and 793 MeV from about 30° to 90° c.m. The total uncertainty was determined to be less than 1%, made possible by particle counting for beam normalization and extensive cross-checks of systematic effects. These new data are consistent with previous data above 600 MeV but have uncertainties about a factor of 10 smaller. Near 500 MeV these data are consistent with 90° data from TRIUMF, but differ significantly from similar data from PSI; the cause of this discrepancy is discussed.

We have measured the spin-transfer parameters KLL, KSL, KLS, and KSS at 635 MeV from 50° to 178° c.m. and at 485 MeV from 74° to 176° c.m. These new data have a significant impact on the phase-shift analyses. There are now sufficient data near these energies to overdetermine the elastic nucleon-nucleon amplitudes.
