The process $e^{+}e^{-}\to \eta^{\prime} J/\psi$ is observed for the first time with a statistical significance of $8.6\sigma$ at center-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s} = 4.226$ GeV and $7.3\sigma$ at $\sqrt{s} = 4.258$ GeV using data samples collected with the BESIII detector. The Born cross sections are measured to be $(3.7 \pm 0.7 \pm 0.3)$ and $(3.9 \pm 0.8 \pm 0.3)$ pb at $\sqrt{s} = 4.226$ and $4.258$ GeV, respectively, where the first errors are statistical and the second systematic. Upper limits at the 90% confidence level of the Born cross sections are also reported at other 12 energy points.

We report on a CDF measurement of the total cross section and rapidity distribution, $d\sigma/dy$, for $q\bar{q}\to \gamma^{*}/Z\to e^{+}e^{-}$ events in the $Z$ boson mass region ($66<M_{ee}<116$GeV/c$^2$) produced in $p\bar{p}$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}=1.96$TeV with 2.1fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. The measured cross section of $257\pm16$pb and $d\sigma/dy$ distribution are compared with Next-to-Leading-Order(NLO) and Next-to-Next-to-Leading-Order(NNLO) QCD theory predictions with CTEQ and MRST/MSTW parton distribution functions (PDFs). There is good agreement between the experimental total cross section and $d\sigma/dy$ measurements with theoretical calculations with the most recent NNLO PDFs.

Analysing powers and differential cross sections for p p → π − π + and p p → K − K + have been measured over the full angular range using a polarised target at LEAR at 20 beam momenta from 360 to 1550 MeV/ c . Discrepancies in the normalisation of earlier d σ/ d Ω data at low momenta are clarified. Above 1000 MeV/ c , A 0N results confirm values close to +1 over most of the angular range for both reactions, in excellent agreement with earlier data of lower statistics. Below 1000 MeV/ c , where the analysing power is measured for the first time, large variations of A 0N with energy and angle are present.

An analysis has been made of 64 600 events of the type K−p→K−p and 22 800 events of the type K−p→K¯0n in the Berkeley 25-in. hydrogen bubble chamber. Differential cross sections have been measured in intervals of 10 MeV/c over the momentum range 220 to 470 MeV/c. Legendre-polynomial fits to the distributions have been made, and the coefficients show structure from the resonant D-wave [Λ(1520)] and background S and P waves. No new structure is observed. The total K−p cross section determined from measurements of all final states seen in this exposure is also presented.

First measurement of the spin transfer parameter K(n00n) in the anti-p p ---> anti-n n reaction at 875-MeV/c

Phys.Lett.B 380 (1996) 235-240, 1996.
Inspire Record 429760 DOI 10.17182/hepdata.5745

The spin-transfer parameter K n 00 n of the p p↑ → n ↑n charge exchange reaction has been measured for the first time at the CERN Low Energy Antiproton Ring (LEAR), at 875 MeV/ c p momentum, in the centre-of-mass scattering-angle range from 45° to 78°. To measure the transverse polarisation of the n 's, a thick scintillator counter hodoscope was used as live target, and the elastic n p scattering on the hydrogen of the scintillator was used as analysing reaction of the n transverse polarisation. Its so far unmeasured analysing power is taken as linear in momentum transfer, A n p = α·q , and results are given for α · K n 00 n . The values one obtains for K n 00 n , estimating α from N N potential models, are less than 0.25, in agreement with the predictions.
