We present data on the five final states Λω, Λφ, Λϱ 0 , Σ 0 ⊘ and Σ 0 ϱ 0 produced in 3.1–3.6 GeV/ c K − p interactions. These data are from a bubble chamber experiment with 18 events/μb. For all reactions the data consist of the overall and differetial cross sections, and the hyperon polarisation and the vector meson's density matrix elements as a function of momentum transfer. For Λω and Λ⊘, an almost complete amplitude analysis is performed in several regions of momentum transfer. The data are examined from the point of view of various exchange models.

A measurement of the splitting scales occuring in the $k_\mathrm{t}$ jet-clustering algorithm is presented for final states containing a $Z$ boson. The measurement is done using 20.2 fb$^{-1}$ of proton-proton collision data collected at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 8$ TeV by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in 2012. The measurement is based on charged-particle track information, which is measured with excellent precision in the $p_\mathrm{T}$ region relevant for the transition between the perturbative and the non-perturbative regimes. The data distributions are corrected for detector effects, and are found to deviate from state-of-the-art predictions in various regions of the observables.
The measured fiducial as a function of sqrt(d0). The fiducial cross sections are measred for the charged-only particle level in the muon channel as well as the electron channel. Extrapolations to the complete fiducial phase space including charged and neutral particles are also shown for the muon channel and the electron channel.

This paper presents a study of the production of $WW$ or $WZ$ boson pairs, with one $W$ boson decaying to $e\nu$ or $\mu\nu$ and one $W$ or $Z$ boson decaying hadronically. The analysis uses 20.2 fb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt{s}=8$ TeV $pp$ collision data, collected by the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Cross-sections for $WW/WZ$ production are measured in high-$p_{T}$ fiducial regions defined close to the experimental event selection. The cross-section is measured for the case where the hadronically decaying boson is reconstructed as two resolved jets, and the case where it is reconstructed as a single jet. The transverse momentum distribution of the hadronically decaying boson is used to search for new physics. Observations are consistent with the Standard Model predictions, and $95\%$ confidence intervals are calculated for parameters describing anomalous triple gauge-boson couplings.
Measured fiducial cross section in the WV->lvjj and WV->lvJ channels. Refer to the paper for details of applied event selection.
Correction factors D for WV->lvjj and WV->lvJ channels. D = fWW * CWW + (1-fWW) * CWZ. fWW is the predicted ratio of the WW fiducial cross section to the WW+WZ fiducial cross section: fWW = SIG_theo_WW * AWW / (SIG_theo_WW*AWW + SIG_theo_WZ*AWZ).
The expected and observed 95% confidence intervals for the anomalous coupling parameters defined in the EFT frame work. WV->lvjj channel.
Incident alphas on protons were used to measure the elastic cross section in the backward hemisphere at 3.20, 4.00, 5.08 and 6.00 GeV/ c . The level and shape of the angular distributions are strongly dependent on energy. A backward peak shows up at 4.00 GeV/ c and become much steeper when the energy increases.

The α-proton elastic scattering has been measured with α particles at equivalent incident proton energies of 438, 648, and 1036 MeV. A structure is observed at the position where a second minimum is expected in the differential cross section. Comparison with improved versions of the Glauber model are presented.

The latest neutron electric dipole moment (EDM) experiment has been collecting data at the Institut Laue-Langevin (ILL), Grenoble, since 1996. It uses an atomic-mercury magnetometer to compensate for the magnetic field fluctuations that were the principal source of systematic errors in previous experiments. The first results, in combination with the previous ILL measurement, yield a possible range of values of (−7.0<dn<5.0)×10−26ecm ( 90% C.L.). This may be interpreted as an upper limit on the absolute value of the neutron EDM of |dn|<6.3×10−26ecm ( 90% C.L.).

Emission of intermediate mass fragments (IMFs) (Z>~3) from central collisions of 40Ar+45Sc (E/A=35–115 MeV), 58Ni+58Ni (E/A=35–105 MeV), and 86Kr+93Nb (E/A=35–95 MeV) was studied. For each system, the average number of IMFs per event increased with beam energy, reached a maximum, and then decreased. The beam energy of peak IMF production increased linearly with the combined mass of the system. The number of IMFs emitted at the peak also increased with the system mass. Percolation calculations showed a weaker dependence of the peak beam energy and the number of IMFs on the total mass of the system.
Uncertainty in EKIN is 1 PCT.
The angular distribution of the inclusive reaction 4 He + p → 3 He + X was measured with 6.85 GeV/ c incident alphas. At large angles, the observed kinematics corresponds to the elastic scattering on the target proton of an 3 He present in the incoming 4 He, the remaining neutron being a spectator. This shows the presence of an important component of 3 He in 4 He. The integrated cross section for 3 He production is σ 3He = 24.1 ± 1.9 mb.

A search for doubly charged Higgs bosons with pairs of prompt, isolated, highly energetic leptons with the same electric charge is presented. The search uses a proton-proton collision data sample at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV corresponding to 36.1 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity recorded in 2015 and 2016 by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. This analysis focuses on the decays $H^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow e^{\pm}e^{\pm}$, $H^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow e^{\pm}\mu^{\pm}$ and $H^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow \mu^{\pm}\mu^{\pm}$, fitting the dilepton mass spectra in several exclusive signal regions. No significant evidence of a signal is observed and corresponding limits on the production cross-section are derived at 95% confidence level. The observed lower limit on the mass of a doubly charged Higgs boson only coupling to left-handed leptons ($e$,$\mu$) varies from 770 GeV to 870 GeV (850 GeV expected) for $B(H^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow \ell^{\pm}\ell^{\pm})$ = 100% and both the expected and observed mass limits are above 450 GeV for $B(H^{\pm\pm}\rightarrow \ell^{\pm}\ell^{\pm})$ = 10% and any combination of partial branching ratios.
Observed and expected upper limit on the cross-section for $pp \to H^{++}H^{--}$ for a combination of partial branching ratios of $B(ee) = 100\%$, $B(e \mu ) = 0\%$, and $B( \mu \mu ) = 0\%$.

The results of a search for vector-like top quarks using events with exactly one lepton, at least four jets, and large missing transverse momentum are reported. The search is optimised for pair production of vector-like top quarks in the $Z(\rightarrow \! \! \nu \nu) \, t + X$ decay channel. LHC pp collision data at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=13$ TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector in 2015 and 2016 are used, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 $\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. No significant excess over the Standard Model expectation is seen and upper limits on the production cross-section of a vector-like $T$ quark pair as a function of the $T$ quark mass are derived. The observed (expected) 95% CL lower limits on the $T$ mass are 870 GeV (890 GeV) for the weak-isospin singlet model, 1.05 TeV (1.06 TeV) for the weak-isospin doublet model and 1.16 TeV (1.17 TeV) for the pure $Zt$ decay mode. Limits are also set on the mass as a function of the decay branching ratios, excluding large parts of the parameter space for masses below 1 TeV.
Expected and observed 95% CL upper limit on the cross-section times branching ratio for VLQ $T$ pair production as a function of the $T$ mass for BR($T \rightarrow Zt$) = 100%.
Expected and observed 95% CL upper limit on the cross-section times branching ratio for VLQ $T$ pair production as a function of the $T$ mass for branching ratios according to the singlet model.
Expected and observed 95% CL upper limit on the cross-section times branching ratio for VLQ $T$ pair production as a function of the $T$ mass for branching ratios according to the doublet model. Contributions from the $X$ or $B$ quark in the $(X^{5/3}, T)$ or $(T, B)$ doublet models are neglected, leading to very conservative limits.
